Last week I attended an important meeting with NSWSPC and Deputy Secretary Ruth Owen. One incident occurred in a High School setting regarding a kirpan being pulled out in a threatening manner. The kirpan is a sword or knife that is part a religious commandment given to Sihks – it is one of the five articles of faith.

A new policy is being collaborated on with the Sihk community regarding school safety and protection for all. This new policy refers to students only – not adults on school sites.
