Many of our schools have been closed for contact tracing and cleaning this term and last. I applaud the brilliant work of our Principals and their Executive teams the staff and their communities.

NSW Health is well and truly under duress and sometimes the time lag is problematic in ensuring timely communication. I must also acknowledge the support DELs, ED’s, Deputy Secretaries and NSW Teachers Federation has been offering our Principals. There is often a very quick turn around time to close the school and an equally quick resumption of school operations.

I appreciate those of you who have made such positive suggestions to our senior DoE personnel and to me about how the process could be tweaked to ensure a better experience for other colleagues. I know the feedback has been heard and appreciated.
